  1. Population and dissenters: Nineteen. Five Dwellings in ye Parish lie void. Of those nineteen families, two are Anabaptists; four are Presbyterians; one is partly of ye church & partly Presbyterian; Another is partly of ye Church & partly Quaker. There is no Meeting House in ye parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no publick or Charity School.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: No Almshouse, nor Hospital, nor other charitable endowment. N:B: St. Leonards is an Augmented Rectory, by ye Governours of ye Bounty of Queen Anne. The Estate purchas’d for that Purpose lies in ye Parish of Crediton.

  4. Residence upon cure: There is no House now belonging to ye Rectory. I live in the adjoyning Parish of St. Thomas in a Dwelling belonging to me as Chaplain to ye Bridewell, where I perform Divine Service on Sundays generally after ye Evening-Service is ended by me at my Church of St. Leonards.

  7. Frequency of divine service: On Lord’s Days twice. On Occasional Days. On all ye Holy festivals ye week I did for many years constantly perform Divine Service, viz: as long as there was a family at Mount Radford-House who were of ye Church; which family (i:e) Mrs. Ducke, ye then Patroness of ye Living, & Those she brought to Church with her, was generally ye sum of my Congregation those Days. After her Death & when Dissenters came to that House, I was disappointed of Congregation, found myself fain to go Home without performing Divine Service, could not have a Congregation but of my own immediate procuring; till after frequent Attempts made in vain, I gave over and Divine Service is not for ye said Reason ordinarily perform’d on ye festival Days in ye week.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four Times in ye year at least viz: on ye three Great Festivals, & ye Sunday after Michaelmas.

  9. Number of communicants: Twelve, who for ye most Part usually receive. Nine of them communicated at Easter last past.

  10. Catechising of children: On Sundays in ye Afternoon after ye Second Lesson when there are in ye Parish Children of Age & fit to be catechized. On which occasion ye Parishioners readily send their Children.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: There is no Chapel within my Parish.
